When members approached the truck and attempted an arrest, one male driver and one female passenger rammed into a police vehicle and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Witnesses reported that immediately after the shooting, two suspects were seen running from the residence, and they departed the scene in what was believed to be a Toyota Highlander.
