Kehewin First Nation — Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigates homicide in Kehewin First Nation Wednesday 21 February 2024 09:30 PM UTC+00 | Tags: alberta On Feb. 20, 2024, at 10:45 a.m., Bonnyville RCMP received a report of a suspicious death on Kehewin First Nation. Upon arrival, RCMP located a deceased 38-year-old male Kehewin First Nation resident. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been deployed and has taken carriage of the investigation. There is no threat to public safety. The victim has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton and an autopsy is scheduled for Feb. 23, 2024. Tags:

Fort Saskatchewan — Individual faces 16 weapons-related charges following RCMP Federal Policing investigation Wednesday 21 February 2024 03:15 PM UTC+00 | Tags: alberta On Feb. 13, 2024, the RCMP Federal Policing Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) arrested a Fort Saskatchewan resident for multiple weapons-related offences. Following a thorough investigation, INSET executed a search warrant for a primary residence and vehicle. As a result of the search, the RCMP seized two prohibited automatic rifles, one prohibited semi-automatic rifle, one prohibited automatic handgun, one restricted handgun, two non-restricted semi-automatic rifles, one non-restricted shotgun, 33 prescribed prohibited magazines, and four bayonets. Maskwacis — Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate homicide in Maskwacis Tuesday 13 February 2024 01:45 PM UTC+00 | Tags: alberta On Feb. 11, 2024, at 12:15 p.m., Maskwacis RCMP received a report of a deceased person in a residence on 6 Mile on Samson Cree Nation, Alta. Upon arrival, police located a deceased male. The circumstances around the death were suspicious, and the Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit was deployed to take carriage of the investigation. The deceased was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton. Police are treating the death as a homicide. The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Gordelle Soosay. Tags:

Mundare — Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate suspicious death in Mundare Tuesday 20 February 2024 01:30 PM UTC+00 | Tags: alberta On Feb. 19, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Vegreville RCMP responded to a report of a house fire on 49 Street in Mundare. The fire department extinguished the fire and located human remains inside the residence. At this time, the circumstances around the death have been deemed suspicious. The Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit has been deployed to take carriage of the investigation with the assistance of Vegreville RCMP and St. Paul Forensic Identification Services. Tags:
