Wetaskiwin — Wetaskiwin RCMP arrest and charge two individuals in stolen vehicle

On Oct. 10, 2024, at approximately 1 p.m., the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit was conducting proactive patrols when they observed a vehicle towing a trailer displaying a stolen Alberta licence plate.

Bow Island — Bow Island RCMP execute search warrants and seize drugs and cash

One individual has been arrested, and a substantial amount of cocaine, methamphetamine and proceeds of crime has been seized by the Bow Island RCMP. Bow Island RCMP with the assistance of the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, made the drug seizures on Oct. 17, 2024, after four search warrants were conducted on a business, a residence and two vehicles in Bow Island.

Maskwacis — Maskwacis RCMP advise of heavy police presence

Maskwacis RCMP would like to thank everyone for their co-operation, the heavy police presence was ended in the very early morning hours of Oct. 19, 2024. On Oct. 18, 2024, shortly after 9:45 p.m., Maskwacis RCMP responded to a complaint of forcible confinement involving a firearm.  Numerous RCMP resources were dispatched to the area. The female victim, who called 911, was located hiding in a treeline outside of a residence on the Louis Bull Townsite, Alta.

Wetaskiwin — Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit charge two with drug offences

Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), along with Alberta Sheriffs Safer Community and Neighbourhoods Team (SCAN), began a drug trafficking investigation at a residence in the 4700 block of 52 Avenue in Wetaskiwin after several complaints were received from citizens of the community.

Grande Prairie — Grande Prairie RCMP investigating found human remains

On Oct. 21, 2024, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a report of found human remains in an undeveloped area situated north west of the city. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the discovery of an unidentified deceased female.

Red Deer — Red Deer RCMP make arrest for firearm and drugs

On Sept. 21, 2024, at approximately 5:25 p.m., Red Deer RCMP were called to assist Red Deer community peace officers as they had an individual who had fled a traffic stop from them. The suspect left behind a satchel and a backpack. A firearm was located inside of the satchel, while approximately 634 grams of Fentanyl and other items consistent with drug trafficking were located inside of the backpack.
