Of the 1,982 tickets issued, 990 were for speeding, 35 for distracted driving, and 55 were issued for not wearing a seatbelt. Gift Lake Metis Settlement — Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate homicide in Gift Lake Metis Settlement Saturday 24 August 2024 01:30 PM UTC+00 | Tags: alberta On August 23, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., High Prairie RCMP responded to a call of an unresponsive male in a vehicle. Upon their arrival, the male was deceased having injuries consistent with a gun shot wound. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit were called and have taken carriage of the investigation. Nordegg — Rocky Mountain House RCMP report missing hiker found deceased after 3-day search Friday 09 August 2024 01:45 PM UTC+00 | Tags: alberta On Aug. 5, 2024, Rocky Mountain House RCMP were advised of an overdue 55-year-old hiker in the Nordegg backcountry. The hiker's vehicle was quickly located in the Coral Creek staging area. Warburg — Thorsby RCMP arrest male after several serious violent incidents in Warburg Thursday 22 August 2024 01:15 PM UTC+00 | Tags: alberta On Aug. 20, 2024, at 7:44 p.m., Thorsby RCMP received a report of stabbing that occurred on 54 Avenue in Warburg. Upon arrival, emergency workers tended to the victim who had several serious injures. The victim was taken to hospital where they are expected to recover. While officers were assisting the victim, they were approached by an aggressive individual who police soon learned was their suspect in the stabbing. The suspect was quickly arrested. Red Deer — Red Deer RCMP crime reduction team arrest two individuals Wednesday 21 August 2024 01:30 PM UTC+00 | Tags: alberta On Aug. 20, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., Red Deer RCMP Crime reduction team, with the assistance of the Central Alberta Crime Reduction Unit and RCMP Air Services, arrested two individuals in the Inglewood neighbourhood of Red Deer. Officers were conducting patrols within Red Deer and located a driver that was prohibited and wanted on warrants.
