Wetaskiwin — Wetaskiwin RCMP execute search warrant near the town of Millet

On July, 3, 2024, at approximately 5 a.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP recovered a stolen vehicle in the town of Millet. Through further investigation, RCMP were led to believe that there were more stolen items at a rural location not to far out of Millet.

Thorhild County — Alberta RCMP officer involved shooting in Egremont – Update

Redwater RCMP continue their investigation into the Break and enter in progress, which culminated to an officer discharging their service weapon. Police are still searching for the original suspect vehicle which drove through the gates of a Thorhild County property and fled from responding officers. Police are asking for public assistance in locating the vehicle. Police describe the vehicle as a White Ford F250 or 350 pickup with extensive front end damage and potential bullet holes.

Lloydminster — Alberta RCMP officer involved shooting in Lloydminster

On June 29, 2024, at 7:10 p.m., a member of the Lloydminster RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) was investigating a weapons complaint. A foot chase ensued into the Weaver Park Campground where the suspect stole an occupied RV and drove it towards the RCMP officer.

Drumheller — Drumheller RCMP arrest suspect for impersonating a police officer

On June 26, 2024, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Drumheller RCMP received a complaint from a motorist advising that while driving near Highway 9 and secondary Highway 840 in Wheatland County, Alta., a black Jeep Patriot with red and blue lights flashing in the front window, maneuvered behind the complainant and followed closely with the flashing lights in an apparent attempt to stop the complainant.

Fort Saskatchewan — Fort Saskatchewan RCMP lay charges following recovered stolen vehicle investigation

On June 27, 2024, shortly after 9:30 a.m., a member of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic and Crime Reduction Unit (TCRU) located a stolen vehicle at a motel on 93 Avenue and 99 Street in Fort Saskatchewan. The TCRU member observed a male suspect run into one of the motel rooms, and then run out the back of the motel into a residential area. A second male suspect also fled out the back of the motel. Area residents were quick thinking and called 911 as the same two suspects were seen entering a holiday trailer parked on a residential property on 92 Avenue.

Red Deer — Red Deer RCMP arrest suspect in transit bus stabbing

On the evening of June 27, 2024, Red Deer RCMP responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing incident on a city transit bus. Police responded immediately to the Clearview Meadows area of Red Deer. Reports indicated that one passenger had stabbed another passenger while exiting the bus and then fleeing the scene.

Innisfail — Innisfail RCMP charge repeat offender with drug trafficking

On June 25, 2024, Innisfail RCMP with assistance of the RCMP Red Deer Crime Reduction Team and Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit were conducting surveillance on a known drug trafficker and repeat offender.  The suspect was observed driving a vehicle, and he was known to police as a suspended driver.  The suspect was arrested by police and search incidental to his arrest resulted in the seizure of:

Beaver County — Alberta RCMP assist EPS arresting federal escapee

On July 4, 2024, at 11:55 a.m., RCMP were asked to assist the Edmonton Police Service Targeted Response to Auto Theft Prevention (TRAP) Team who located a suspicious Mazda sedan leaving the area where a stolen truck was last seen in Beaver County.
