John D'or Prairie — Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigates homicide in John D'or Prairie

On May 16, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., Fort Vermilion RCMP responded to a report of a male suffering from a gun shot wound. EMS also attended, transporting the victim, who succumbed to his injuries on route to the hospital. The cause of death is believed to be suspicious. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was deployed and has taken carriage of the investigation. The deceased has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will take place.
