Siksika — Gleichen RCMP advise residents to shelter in place – Update #2

On June 15, 2024, Gleichen RCMP received a report that a male sustained a serious injury to his arm from a believed gun shot in the Map 8 area of Siksika Nation. RCMP located the victim and ensured he received medical attention. The investigation revealed who the suspect was and RCMP quickly located him. For everyone's safety, area residents were either evacuated and a shelter in place was issued. The RCMP Emergency Response Team attended and contacted the suspect, who was in a residence. The suspect surrendered to officers.
