Aug. 30, 2024 Alberta RCMP urges safe driving during Labour Day long weekend Edmonton – Ahead of the Labour Day long weekend, your Alberta RCMP are asking motorists to keep safety top-of-mind. "Last year, we issued 1,124 speeding tickets, 41 tickets for distracted driving, and 46 for liquor and cannabis offenses. We will be out again this year working to keep people safe. I hope our reported numbers are much lower this year." says Sgt. Darrin Turnbull of Alberta RCMP Traffic.
