Red Deer — Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigates homicide in Red Deer

On March 21, 2024, at 3:51 p.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a shooting that occurred at an apartment building on Parke Avenue in Red Deer. As officers arrived, a suspect was observed running from the area. After a short foot pursuit, the male was arrested and a firearm seized. A second male suspect was also located near the scene and arrested. Other officers arriving on scene located a deceased person who has been identified as 54-year-old Red Deer resident Jason Cory Worobec. The Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit was dispatched and has taken over the investigation.
