On Feb. 16, 2024, the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit identified a repeat offender operating a motor vehicle. Officers conducted surveillance of the vehicle and observed a different repeat offender in the vehicle who had outstanding warrants. A traffic stop was conducted, and the passenger with outstanding warrant was arrested. After a subsequent investigation, a search of the vehicle was conducted where officers located quantities of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and GHB. A 45-year-old individual, a resident of Wetaskiwin, has been charged with:
