Fort McMurray — Wood Buffalo RCMP investigate firearms offences, suspect arrested

On Sept. 5, 2024, Wood Buffalo RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Services were conducting patrols in Janvier, Alta. and Chipewyan Prairie First Nation, Alta. A male wanted by police for breach of probation was seen in a residence on Chipewyan Prairie First Nation. A judicially authorized warrant to enter the residence and arrest the male was obtained by police. RCMP subsequently entered the residence and arrested the 31-year-old resident without further incident.
